NEWSOctober Networking Event Recap30.10.2012
The QPWN October meeting brought together seventy-five ladies, wearing various shades of pink to raise awareness of Cancer prevention and focus on women’s health issues. In the pink accented décor of the Bistro 61 Restaurant the women who represent both National and Expatriate communities, came together to better understand this disease that directly or indirectly touches too many of us.
Our heartfelt thanks to Karen Al Kharouf, founder of Think Pink Qatar and Amani Halawa a leader of the Hayat Cancer Support Group for sharing their experiences. Both stressed the importance of awareness for prevention and cure stating that ‘Breast Cancer Awareness is about being informed, not being afraid and taking control’.
Karen invites women, their families and friends from all over Qatar to register for the Breast Cancer Walk on 2 November, Doha Cornice at 5pm. Please visit Think Pink Qatar website for registration and details. All funds raised go to the Qatar Cancer Association to support treatment of those diagnosed with Cancer here irrespective of their nationality.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event; your contributions to QPWN and support of each other in Qatar are greatly valued.
